SEPTEMBER ’03, Part One |

September was quite a month for me! that's why it has taken two pages to fit all the photos. In a nutshell, I flew from Fiji, where I work nowadays, to New York, where I grew up. First order of business was to hit the Chelsea galleries, which are always spot on to my tastes of late. I like stuff that used to piss me off. Stuff that doesn't really seem all that talented. Cheecky in a post-modern way. Then my grandpa had his 95th birthday, and we all got drunk and naked in a canoe onthe lake by dad's house and swamped several times, leaving a bit of a bump on ol' gracy's face. Then it was upstate for the wedding itself, and then Italy for the honeymoon. In Italy, you need to go to Enotecas, little wine bars where you can get small plates of delicious eggplant and cheeses and meats. The food awed me; all that old stuff was just killing time for me. |
