So, the TheySaySmall Mascott fiasco continues. In trying to create a sculpture of
this little guy, I
thought I was onto the solution with layered particle board or plexi-glass.
I still think I am, though piecing the pieces together isn't as seamless as I had hoped. The individual pieces I must admit I am quite fond of (and I am even thinking I can always give up and market them as "Shape Tweens In Wood," because they would look quite nice affixed on a wall in their own right), but they are not working together. However, I do not want to give up.
So, here's my latest schematic for bringing the boy to life:
I'm thinking I can build the box from plexi, or perhaps a wall-less frame for a box of black metal (like those huge colorado homes have with the metal and the exposed beams), and I have to find the right material for the wires -- something that can bend into nice curves without crimping.
And today, in the community grab-bag section of the wood shop I found
exactly the wood I was going to buy for the
Mobile Unit!
