Billed as the first post-modern novel... before there even was a modern to be post about, Tristam Shandy is now a movie. Or rather, a website about making a website about a movie that is about making a movie about a book that is self-referential. But as I often forget, self-refernetial does not in and of itself denote Post-Modern. Nowadays, self-referentiality in media is almost a necessity to prove that you're human down there. The faintest glimmer of recognition in the eye or the edge of that smile to prove you don't take yourself too seriously. Hell, Captain Kirk has resurrected his career on it.

Post-modern or not, the book is lovingly typeset for the web, so you can decide for yourself. Besides, with characters discussing how best to describe the color their teeth:

"Barley meadow? Tuscan sunset?"

"If you think your teeth are too good, you get bogged down in the leading man category"

the point of pomo or no becomes moot. Its clever. And it comes to Providence February 24, a month after developing countries like UK got it.
