It has been quite awhile, eh. I have returned to the USA with insufficient explanations for those wanting to understand why on earth I would leave Fiji for this crazy place.

I have no good reason. But here I am.

Navigating the perils of home-buying, I realized once again that the world is not ruled by fairness, but by power, when I learned how to read my first Amortization chart. I also almost got my ass beat by a couple hairy, leather-clad New Jersey-ites in a white PT Cruiser when I forgot I was no longer in Fiji and actually tried to make friends with strangers! (at 3am outside a bar in New York City)

But, I am no longer disturbed by traffic jams, and happily sing along with my CD player and dream of iTrip (not allowed because this home-buying thing has lead me to new depths of miserliness in preparation).

I forsee a resurgence in posts at this blog, initially gallery reviews this summer, moving into media theory this autumn, and then a vast silence this winter when my thin Fiji blood freezes solid.

In the meantime, some photos. More at the links on the bottom.

-chow for now, chris
