The Media Centre Multimedia unit oversees initiation, design, planning, creation and promotion of educational multimedia materials in support of the Universitiy's multi-modal teaching learning mission.
We are seeking a responsible self-starter to assist the Multimedia Specialist at the USP Media Centre. The candidate will be responsible for the maintenance and growth of the Media Centre website, assistance in animation, writing and coding of educational multimedia such as cd-roms and websites, and various administrative duties. This will involve writing, coding, animating, interviewing, library and internet research, and managing his or her own appointments to collect information from staff and students.
Applicants must have at least 2 years experience in web design, multimedia development, and information technology. They must be skilled in industry-standard software such as Macromedia Flash, Macromedia Director, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, and Macromedia Dreamweaver, and must know HTML. Applicants must be familiar with and willing to learn XML.
Other essential criteria include: the ability to work both individually and with a group, written and oral communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to combine various information sources and media into a cohesive and sensible whole.
