Project overview

Goal of Project

Create a CD-Rom that teaches students some specific technical drawing techniques, while also using this project as a Flash training course ( TepFlashClass )for Extension and Media Center. Then produce a case study that may serve as a model for future InsituTraining with ?MelissaGold.

Target Audience

This CD will be designed for students of TEP02, Technical Drawing. As this is a preliminary course, all students will be extension students.

How will this project benefit USP?

Education: who will be educated by this? In what ways?

Students in TEP02 will learn engineering drawing. Extension and MediaCenter staff will learn Flash

Promotion: how does it promote USP/ Media Centre?

This is an easy first project that will give some lecturers and students a clearer idea of the sort of projects we can do.

Internal Training: Who in Media Centre will learn from this project? What will they learn?

Maraia will learn how to compress and export audio for multimedia projects. Between 3 and 8 members of Media Center and Extension will get hands-on experience creating flash animations for a CD-Rom (specify names of potentials...). ChristopherRobbins and ?MelissaGold will run a TepFlashClass at outset, and will follow up with one-on-one help during project as needed.

Technical

Each person working on the flash animations will need a copy of Macromedia Flash.

Staff

Melissa & Christopher for flash template, Mariah for audio, + several people to do the flash components. Also Graphics department (with Christopher & Melissa) to design CD-cover.
