Introduction

This is the plan for an installation focusing on the human-plant interaction of httpthe information ecosystem on a more personal level. Rather than providing a broad overview of the process as presented by the httpTHEY stream (see DmMobileUnit), it inserts the participant into a small slice of life of the experience of the information ecosystem.

Breathing on an actual plant triggers a projection of information being blown towards the plant along with Co2. The plant then absorbs this Co2 and information, filters it, and releases it as changed information and o2.

I knew I wanted to create a interactive installation that allowed people to directly participate in information and carbon dioxide transfer with a plant, but it wasn't until I met with Joachim Sauter (DmJoachimSauter) that we came upon the solution of using the breath itself as the trigger as well as the vehicle for information transfer.

Read httpThe Lights Going Out for a more vivid account of the world this might become.
